The Dream Team
The developer, International Capital Trading LLC (ICT), awarded the construction contract for the Nation Towers project to a joint venture between Dubai-based Arabtec Construction and Abu Dhabi-based National Projects and Construction. The construction of Nation Towers is progressing at a mind-numbing pace too.
The entire construction is set to be completed within 30 months from the date of first breaking ground – an incredible feat.
The advanced works and enabling works were awarded to Bauer International, Abu Dhabi, a branch of BAUER Spezialtiefbau GmbH, Germany. The advanced works consisted of site hoarding, signboards, site offices, truck washing machines, diversion of services crossing the site such as water, sewerage, irrigation, power, removal of trees and landscaping, removal of existing structures such as irrigation pumps and substructures.
The enabling works consisted of the construction of a secant pile wall with tieback anchors, excavation up to -11.50 metres below NGL, a dewatering system to maintain a dry platform to 1.5 metres below the formation level, and 1266 bored cast-in-situ piles of different diameters, 600 mm, 900 mm, 1200mm, 1500 mm, and 2000mm with a pile depth ranging from 15 metres to 45 meters.
The project started in June 2007; the shoring works, excavation and dewatering was completed by December 2007.
